Gen Z app launches search for a senior intern

August 2022: With seniors returning to the workforce in their masses, Gen Z instant video messaging social media app, Frog, has launched a search for a senior intern to join their team. New statistics have found that in the UK a growing number of older people are entering employment once more with the latest figures revealing a record 173,000 people aged 65 and over were in work between April and June 2022.

With an employee average age of 28, the Gen Z company seeks the wisdom of an intern aged 60 and over to join the team. The unique job opening will see the right candidate bring their wealth of worldly experience to the position and offer a different perspective to the young company. Founded in 2020, Frog aims to challenge the fake friendships and filter culture seen on social media by inspiring its users to connect in a more sincere and transparent way.

The winning senior intern will receive a full 360-degree work experience placement and take part in a rotation of departments at Frog including finance, creative strategy and marketing and operations. The ideal candidate will be able to share a unique perspective and business knowledge with the Gen Z company while Frog will impart its knowledge of running a youth-centred company for a collaborative learning experience.

The young app’s key audience is 18-25-year-olds who enjoy keeping up to date with friends from daily life and want to avoid the filters commonly seen across social media platforms. The innovative social media app aims to bring more realism to everyday life and move away from the negatives of social media. Therefore, the senior intern can learn about social media while sharing experiences of connecting with friends before social media to ensure the app brings realism to users.

Over a two-week period, the senior intern will work two days per week from 10 am until 4 pm with a one-hour lunch break. The company hopes to provide a new and enjoyable experience for the right candidate who is keen to learn more about the Gen Z age group. For the work experience position, the candidate will be paid the London Living Wage of £9.50 per hour.

Applicants need to submit a 150-word cover letter about why they would make the best senior intern along with a CV to https://frogapp.me/seniorintern/. Eligible candidates must be over 60 years old, and UK residents.

For updates about the competition follow Frog on TikTok and LinkedIn. Applications open on Tuesday 23rd August at 9 am and close on Tuesday 27th September at midnight. A shortlist of candidates will then have a phone interview with Frog before a decision on the final senior intern is made. For more
