Call for applications for the 2022 EO Global Student Entrepreneur Awards

The London chapter of Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO), the world’s leading peer-to-peer network of successful business owners, has begun accepting applications for this year’s qualifying rounds of the EO Global Student Entrepreneur Awards (GSEA). Local chapter EO London announced that it will be hosting the National Qualifying Competition on 24ty of February in Cass University.

EO GSEA is a premier awards programme for students who own or operate a business while attending college or university. Student entrepreneurs compete against peers in a series of local and national qualifying rounds to make their way to the global finals that will be held in April next year. EO GSEA provides students an opportunity to learn from fellow entrepreneurs and form lasting relationships with both students and prominent entrepreneur judges. Over the years, participating students have gone on to expand and build businesses, create thousands of jobs and generate millions in revenue.

In addition to being college or university students, a participant also has to be primarily responsible for a business that has been in operation for no less than six consecutive months. Upon review of the applications, selected students will have the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to present their businesses and entrepreneurial journeys in front of a panel of entrepreneur judges.

The emerging champion from this round of the competition will proceed to the Global Finals and will be in the running to win cash prizes and a bouquet of donated business products and services including web services, PR, consulting and more. The previous UK finalist, Harvinder Power, went on to become global champion in 2019. Find out more about his experience of the competition here.

Student entrepreneurs interested in participating need to apply before 4th January to secure their places in the competition. To know more about EO GSEA application and eligibility, visit: https://gsea.org/apply/

Michael Korn, chairman of GSEA 2021 said: “The GSEA competition supports the entrepreneurial journey for all the students who apply.  It’s a daunting thing to move from academia to entrepreneurship and EO is putting its hand out to help those who want to make the leap.

The only agenda of GSEA is to help student entrepreneurs build their own enterprises and become independent.  There aren’t many business prizes that are as transparent as that. The education system is still lacking the skills and mindsets that are required for a career in entrepreneurship – and GSEA does what it can to help bridge this gap for ambitious entrepreneurial students.”

Previous global winner, Harvinder (UK finalist) comments: “Entering the GSEA has been a life-changing experience, from meeting other student entrepreneurs from across the globe, to world-class mentorship to guide us on our journey.

The GSEA is unique in its’ focus on not just the entrepreneurship of the company, but on the entrepreneur themselves. It’s been inspiring to see the drive of other entrepreneurs from all over the world with the breadth of innovations striving to change the world.

Entrepreneurs’ Organization have been incredible in their support of us and have been there every step of the way to provide support and guidance as we embark on our mission of helping people to recover better and faster after injuries. It’s been an honour to have been a part of the GSEA, and we would wholeheartedly recommend the competition to anyone who’s starting up.”

About the EO Global Student Entrepreneur Awards
As the premier global competition for university students, the EO Global Student Entrepreneur Awards (GSEA) features more than 1,700 prominent student entrepreneurs from more than 55 countries. Fostering a mission to inspire students to start and grow entrepreneurial ventures, EO GSEA brings global visibility to pioneering student business owners. Since its founding in 1998 at the John Cook School of Business at Saint Louis University as the GSEA, the program has honoured outstanding students who simultaneously attend university full-time while running their own businesses. EO took on leadership of the GSEA in 2006 to offer student entrepreneurs access to a global network of mentors, resources, and connections from among the most influential community of entrepreneurs in the world. EO GSEA is generously supported by Thomas Franchise Solutions.
